The Horizontal Skyscraper is an absolutely massive structure, clocking in at 1,296,459 square feet. It’s like the Empire State Building, only horizontal. And with branching arms.

Today Apple completely overhauled its iPod line while also showing off coming updates to iOS, promising impressive new features for iPhones and iPod Touches. Besides completely redesigned versions of the iPod Shuffle and Nano, Apple unveiled iOS 4.1, which introduces a Game Center, a new system that will tie iOS users together in a network similar to Xbox Live. But wait, there’s more!

Apple TV has always been the ugly duckling of the Cupertino company’s line-up. It was convenient, sure, but it really didn’t have enough content on its own to justify a purchase. All that’s about to change, thanks to ABC, Fox and Netflix.

Call me a cynic, but I can’t imagine that Apple’s new, ambitious social network Ping is going to take off. Built into iTunes and the iTunes Store iPhone app, it’s designed to let you share what music you’re enjoying with your friends while also following your favorite musicians.
